Transit accounts for online payments

TWINT, Stripe, Worldline and the wallet in your accounts

When a member pays online (booking, course, invoice or wallet top-up), the money does not reach your bank account straight away: it first goes to the payment provider (TWINT, Stripe or Worldline for SaferPay). The provider then pays you the total of several payments, fees deducted, a few days later.

Plugin.ch therefore books each online payment on a transit account of its own for each provider. The payout received at the bank clears this account and the fees are booked separately. Your bank account thus matches your statement exactly.

La page Transit accounts (online payments) is under Invoices. It only appears if your club uses the general ledger (see Setting up the accounts (general ledger)). These rules apply from the start of the 2026 financial year.

The accounts used

Plugin.ch proposes the same numbers to all clubs. Only the accounts your club needs are added to your chart of accounts: a payment method you do not use does not appear there.

Changing a number

If you already use one of these numbers for something else, the page says so at the top. Open Account numbers, enter another number and click Save. All Plugin.ch entries follow the new number, including payouts already imported since the start of the financial year.

What Plugin.ch books for you

  • Online payment of an invoice or a course: debit transit account, credit debtors.
  • Bookings paid online: one entry per day and provider, debit transit account, credit revenue account. Refunds are deducted.
  • Wallet: each top-up increases the members' balances (2030), each booking paid from the wallet decreases them. Account 2030 always equals the sum of all wallets.
  • Provider payout, when the bank statement (camt.053) is imported: debit bank for the net amount, debit fees, credit transit account for the gross amount.

Where the fees come from

  • TWINT and Worldline write the gross amount and the fees in the payout text on your bank statement. Plugin.ch separates them automatically on import.
  • Stripe pays out the net amount only. Every night Plugin.ch reads from Stripe the gross and the fees of each payout (Stripe fees and Plugin.ch commission) and books them on the payout date.

Reading the control page

One card per provider shows:

  • the balance of the transit account;
  • on the way: payments made after the last payout, normally not yet paid out;
  • the difference between the two. Up to date: everything is in order. Missing payouts?: a bank statement has not been imported yet, or a payout has not arrived. Too many payouts?: the provider paid out payments that Plugin.ch does not know about (for example takings outside Plugin.ch on the same till).

The Wallet compares account 2030 with the sum of your members' wallets. The Wallet to reconcile card shows what is left to allocate (bank transfer received, cash taken at the till, invoicing difference). The QR payments without invoice card flags payments received whose invoice was not found: assign them in the payment list.

The table at the bottom shows, day by day, what was collected, refunded, paid out and deducted as fees. Click a date to see that day's payouts (gross, fees, net and their origin) and each payment.

What you need to do

  • Import your bank statements (camt.053) into the general ledger, automatically through EBICS or with the Camt.053 tab: this is what clears the transit accounts.
  • If you record your bank by hand, book each TWINT, Stripe or Worldline payout as a debit to the bank and a credit to the transit account, for the net amount received.
  • Stop booking the revenue of bookings paid online yourself: Plugin.ch already does it, it would be counted twice.
  • Check the page once a month and allocate the balance of the “to reconcile” account.

Wallet balances at the start of the financial year are taken over automatically as a liability (2030), against retained earnings (2970). If your accounts already held them on another account, enter that account in the invoicing settings (wallet field): the balance will move from that account to 2030.
